Srbija 3D is a platform that brings Serbia to life through interactive 3D models — an ongoing effort to digitize and present the country’s cultural treasure online, explorable from any browser.
The platform is now powered by Gaussian Splatting, an advanced technique that produces remarkably detailed, realistic, high-resolution 3D models. Each model is enriched with historical information, so visitors don’t just look at a monument — they navigate it and learn its story, for a genuinely immersive digital-twin experience.
The narrative layer is written by archaeologist Dr Julka Kuzmanović Cvetković, and a knowledge quiz serves as an engaging entry point into the educational experience.
The project also includes Srbija 3D — Learn Through Play (“Srbija 3D Avantura”), a first-person educational browser game that introduces Serbia’s heritage in a fun, interactive way. It runs straight from the browser with no installation, and is aimed at students, teachers and the simply curious — ideal for schools and presentations.
Srbija 3D also includes a set of virtual-reality applications for Oculus Quest 2: VR Ravanica and VR Manasija (desktop VR), and Multiplayer VR Manasija — a standalone Quest 2 build (no PC required) with optimized graphics and online multiplayer. Users move through the monasteries with teleport navigation, enter the churches and adjust their height in seated play.
Srbija 3D received international recognition from ICOM for innovation in cultural-heritage digitization.
